Duferco Logistics has initiated a new service for containers transport by waterways between Garocentre Terminal in La Louvière and the seaports in Antwerp and Zeebrugge.

Garocentre Terminal is open for containers transport every workingsday from 6AM to 8PM. The new service offers four departures per week to Antwerp and one departure per week to Zeebrugge.

Duferco logistique supports its clients through selected or all stages of waterway transport according to their specific needs (All-In service). The service includes barging, handlings at the terminal, storage, first and last miles by truck, and related containers services as stuffing, stripping, cleaning, …

Garocentre Terminal is authorized for transport and storage of hazardous goods. The Terminal management system enables electronic data exchange (EDI) for optimizing the logistic flows of clients and enabling a convenient tracking of goods. The Terminal is also part of the hinterland terminals network of PSA Antwerp. New services are under development, including paperless transport of containers between Garocentre Terminal and the PSA terminals in Antwerp, namely Churchill Terminal (quay 408 et 420), Europa Terminal (quay 869), Noordzee Terminal (quay 913) et Deurganck Dock (quay 1742).

Further to the take-over of the container terminal in Brussels in July 2013, currently operated in joint-venture with Stukwerkers and HTS Groep under the denomination of TTB (Trimodal Terminal Brussels), the start-up of the container shuttle between Garocentre Terminal and the seaports enables Duferco Logistique to further develop as a logistics services provider specialized in intermodal transport and to strengthen its positioning on the axe Brussels-Charleroi, in the Région du Centre and in Hainaut.
